Kate is the attractive new bartender that catches Brandon's eye at his favorite brewery in small-town Montana. Eventually, he pushes past his quiet-natured tendencies and introduces himself. As he gets to know Kate, Brandon can see something hidden in her eyes, a hint of sadness and rooted fear that keeps her from even accepting a handshake and staring at the door every time the bell at the entrance chimes. Slowly, Kate begins to warm to Brandon, and the two venture out with her brother Seth and enjoy the day skiing.
